Dennis Clayton was employed at the weavers, which eventually he bought at the tender age of 26. Dennis brought his family into the business, namely Brendan, Alan and Mary. The company continued to grow.
On boxing day 2015, the region was completely flooded, and the mill was no exception. The flood devastated the mill. The mill had to be completely gutted, and emptied of all contents, including machinery. It took months until production was running once again.
Calder Weaving fought through this toughest of challenges and is now on the leading weaving companies in the UK.
